ACT Housing Strategy

In 2018, the Chief Minister and the Minister for Housing and Suburban Development released the ACT Housing Strategy.

The ACT Housing Strategy provides a roadmap for housing in the ACT from 2018 to 2028. It sets out how we will support a sustainable supply of housing for all income levels.

The five goals of the strategy focus on the main issues of concern to the Canberra community:

  1. An equitable, diverse and sustainable supply of housing for the ACT community
  2. Reducing homelessness
  3. Strengthening social housing
  4. Increasing affordable rental housing
  5. Increasing affordable home ownership.

The report cards are produced by the Government to measure progress towards achieving the goals.

ACT Housing Strategy Implementation Plan

The Housing Strategy is a living document that guides a ten-year implementation plan.
